In the beginning BRIOŽ was founded by Ivar Bengtsson in 1884. His three young sons then joined him selling high quality wooden toys in Osby Sweden. Thus the BRIOŽ name was developed from Brothers Ivarsson at Osby. The brothers had no idea that the company they started would be the No. 1 Wooden Toy Company in the world.
The horse shown above is the Goinge which was named after the district in Southern Sweden where it was made and is considered to be their most long lived toy "1907 to 1960". BRIOŽ manufactures over 5 million wooden toys each year.
25 years ago BRIOŽ UK was set up with their head office in Loughborough, Leicestershire. BRIOŽ UK continue the tradition of offering first class service to first class products and firmly believes TO GIVE BRIOŽ IS TO GIVE THE BEST.

BRIOŽ wooden toys are made from Beechwood and birch - hard woods that make durable toys built for years of play. The wood is free of insecticides, toxic chemicals and flaws, such as knots and cracks. All wood is kiln-dried to retain its natural colour finish.
Paint
BRIOŽ uses paint, not decals, for long lasting colour and detail. Toys are painted with non-toxic, brilliantly coloured, high gloss lacquer. Many of our famous BRIOŽ Wooden Railway trains and accessories receive up to 60 coats of non-toxic paint to resist chipping and maintain their bright colours.
